Writing a Gift of Story

“For family stories, stories from one’s culture and stories from one’s personal life, anytime may be just the right time to give the gift of story.”

~ Clarissa Pinkola Estés

This workshop invites you to write a gift of story for someone special. You will be given suggestions to create story in many forms: narratives, poems, letters, lists, advice, anecdotes… By the end of this session, you will have started a story to share.

A meaningful and lasting gift for celebrations throughout the year:  birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations...

Soundings

Writer Mark Twain described the process of taking “soundings” when riverboats on the Mississippi paused in their voyage to measure the depth of the waters around them and chart the course ahead. This workshop provides an opportunity to pause in your personal and work life. Through writing, you will be invited to take soundings of your own.

Writing a Gratitude Garden

“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy. They are the charming gardeners who cause our souls to blossom.”

~ Marcel Proust

Plant your garden with gentle and creative energy. Through writing, this workshop invites you to reflect on the important relationships in your life and the people who have helped you to grow. You will be encouraged to plan (and plant, ultimately!) a garden that honours these people and brings a calm, inspired purpose to your garden centre visits in spring and fall.
