Autumn is that season in between: not summer though still somewhat like summer, and not winter, though still somewhat like winter. It is the season that juggles blazing opposites in a great circle....
It is the season that teaches us that our lives are made not to run in smooth and easy paths, predictable and even, always known.
Our lives are messy, sometimes scheduled, sometimes random, sometimes prepared for, sometimes taken on the fly as we juggle our own blazing experiences...
from Autumn: A Spiritual Biography of the Season
The autumn of 2009 has been all of this. A September more summery than summer. Ice, wind and snow in early October. And as I write this on a moonlit Hallowe'en night, it is raining.
My own life has become more scheduled this fall. I have returned to teaching full time which has me juggling experiences (sometimes prepared, sometimes taken on the fly) for 130 blazing students!
This is right where I am, which leaves Write Where You Are workshops sidelined for this season. When my path becomes more predictable and even (or my juggling improves) I will offer a variety of writing experiences again.
In the meanwhile, best wishes for this season in between from a writer in between...
