Right Where I Was

Summer 2020 Newsletter – The COPEndium Edition

Warm summer greetings!

It’s that time of year when I head to my patio office to write my summer newsletter. Same spot, same view, same dog.

2020 may look the same from my patio but so much has changed with COVID-19.

Which inspired me to to post this Facebook video asking followers to contribute their stories of how they’ve coped since March.

I’ve gathered responses and am proud to present The COPEndium: Creative Coping in 2020.

Before #stayathome

In February, I attended a writing retreat with the Writers Guild of Alberta at the Banff Centre. Ten days to write and meet other artists in this inspiring location.

The Banff Centre has a proud history and legacy. We’re fortunate to have this world class facility in Alberta.

In Banff, I had uninterrupted time to work my substantial research into substantial story. I remember thinking wouldn’t it be great to have uninterrupted time to write all the time? (!)

Getting Together with Separation Anxiety

I zoomed into these book clubs in Whitehorse and Stoughton, SK. Friends got together at a distance to discuss my book but it’s their stories that I will remember. They were so happy to see each other again.
