Countdown to Christmas 2017 at Calgary Farmers’ Market

Following the success of my book table on Heritage Day last August, the folks at Calgary Farmers’ Market invited me back on Thursday December 21, one of the last hectic shopping days before Christmas.

My “Featured Artist” location at the market’s north entrance shared space with a coffee station/seating area. I was the first vendor to greet shoppers as they strode purposefully towards the main concourse seeking market-fresh ingredients for Christmas dinner. Most didn’t have time to stop on the way in, but once their shopping was done, many of these same folks had time to put down their brimful carrier bags for a chat in the coffee area. It was a chance to remind people that books are the perfect last-minute gift! (Along with chocolate, coffee, wine — and so many things at this festive market!)

For details on the foods and seasonal programs offered year-round by the market, check out their website: Calgary Farmers Market.
