Warm words & weather – 2017 Whistler Writers Festival wrap up

It takes this Village to raise a festival!

The Whistler Writers Festival features four days of workshops, readings, panels, and performances in a setting that leaves you breathless.

The festival began in founder and creative director Stella Harvey’s living room 16 years ago and remains a warm, welcoming, wonderful celebration of inspiring and aspiring Canadian writers.

Memoir-abilia Writeshop

Saturday morning 8:30. A new day, a fresh page. I loved sharing stories and silent writing time with this group.

I was thrilled to finally meet author J. J. Lee whose 2011 memoir The Measure of a Man: The Story of a Father, A Son, and a Suit was a huge inspiration on my own writing journey. (We mapped out the next leg of this journey on restaurant napkins!)
Congratulations to author Louis Druehl at the launch of The Kawaii Scrolls with proud editor and publisher Kilmeny Denny of Tidewater Press. Cheers!
I met musician Shari Ulrich whose songs I used to belt out in my living room ca. 1985.  She gave me her Everywhere I Go CD,  suggesting that I update my repertoire!
